Health & Safety Manager
Based in Fermoy, this advanced manufacturing facility is FDA registered and certified to ISO 13485:2016, supporting the production of high-quality PCBAs, subassemblies, and complete devices, including Class III medical devices.
The site is a recognised leader in manufacturing automation, delivering end-to-end solutions across the full product lifecycle—from New Product Introduction (NPI), prototyping, and process validation through to high-volume manufacturing, testing, logistics, and repair services.

Objectives of the Position
- Implement and support the Health and Safety Management System within the facility
- Ensure all operations comply with Irish and EU legislative requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Health & Safety activities to maintain compliance with the management system
- Collaborate with the Management Team to establish H&S objectives and targets
- Review and update Health & Safety policies and Safety Statements, recommending improvements where necessary
- Manage the risk assessment review process and support teams in developing risk reduction initiatives
- Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions
- Perform safety audits and inspections to drive continuous improvement
- Develop and implement accident prevention and reduction programmes
- Design, plan, and coordinate Health & Safety training programmes
- Promote a strong safety culture through best practice and awareness initiatives
- Monitor H&S performance and report findings to Management and Safety Committee
- Contribute to the Aspect & Impact Register and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
- Support emergency response planning and coordinate evacuation drills
- Work with HR to reduce legal and insurance costs and assist in claim defence documentation
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure compliance in new designs and process changes
- Prepare and present quarterly H&S performance reports
- Chair the Safety Committee and drive actions arising from meetings
- Ensure coordination and compliance of safety training across the site
- Align site practices with corporate H&S requirements and reporting structures
- Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with a focus on safety
- Advise departments on Management of Change processes
- Oversee the safe use and management of chemicals on site
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory standards
- Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and regulations
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Level 7 Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role
- Proven ability to develop and enhance H&S functions within an existing management structure and drive change initiatives
Desirable
- Experience with ISO and/or OHSAS standards and H&S legislation
- Environmental or sustainability management experience
