The successful candidate will lead vision-related continuous improvement updates, obsolescence upgrade projects and provide vision training for engineering personnel. occasional travel for training and project implementation.
Role
- Support the implementation of Machine Vision projects (mainly Cognex Insight Spreadsheet environment).
- Conduct code review/debugging of a wide spectrum of bespoke vision jobs/algorithms.
- Investigate issues and develop solutions for Machine Vision applications.
- Perform characterization, optimization, emulation, and data analysis on proposed Vision jobs.
- Collaborate with other internal functions (e.g., QA, Operations, Engineering).
- Standardize best machine vision practices across the site.
- Lead vision-related obsolescence upgrade projects.
- Provide vision training for engineering personnel.
Experience:
- Degree in Engineering or Science equivalent.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is desirable.
- Min 5 years of machine vision engineering work experience, preferably in a regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with Cognex Insight hardware/software platform (spreadsheet environment) for at least 5 years.
- Experience with optics, lighting techniques, troubleshooting/diagnostics, and vision algorithm development, with interfaces to PLC/HMI systems.
- Extensive knowledge of vision tools such as histograms, edge tools, blob tools, OCR, logic, image processing techniques, and job profiling.
- Completion of Cognex advanced spreadsheet training, Cognex Vison Pro, Designer and Keyence vision systems.
- Good knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
- Experience with GDP/GMP/GAMP preferred.

- Occasional travel within Ireland required for training and project implementation purposes.
