Mechanical Engineer – Limerick (Heavy Industry Site)

A leading heavy-industry manufacturer with over 85 years of operations in Ireland is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its Limerick site. The facility produces high-quality construction materials using large-scale, energy-efficient processes. You’ll join a long-established engineering team supporting plant maintenance and major upgrade projects.
What you’ll do
• Take ownership of a defined process area within the plant
• Lead preventative and predictive maintenance plans
• Manage reactive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Plan and run major shutdowns and overhauls
• Coordinate contractors during maintenance and project work
• Support large-scale improvement projects from scope to commissioning
• Strengthen safety and environmental standards across your area
What you need
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 4 years’ hands-on mechanical experience in Ireland (heavy industry preferred)
• Strong understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance
• Comfortable planning downtimes and improving equipment reliability
• Experience working in a large manufacturing or heavy-plant environment
• Confident working onsite full-time with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and contractor management skills
• Good IT capability (AutoCAD and MS Office)
