Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Exchange Administrator with a minimum of 4 years’ experience supporting enterprise messaging environments. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of Microsoft Exchange across both on-premise and hybrid/Exchange Online environments. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of email services while supporting ongoing migration and optimisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Exchange Server Administration
• Manage daily operations of hybrid Microsoft Exchange environments (on-premise and Exchange Online)
• Administer mailbox databases, Database Availability Groups (DAGs), mailboxes, distribution groups, and public folders
• Configure, maintain, and optimise Exchange Server components
• Support and administer Exchange Online features including policies, connectors, and Exchange Online Protection
• Support Exchange archiving solutions (Microsoft or third-party)
Messaging Operations and Support
• Troubleshoot and resolve mail flow issues including transport, routing, and queue management
• Manage spam filtering, transport rules, and messaging hygiene policies
• Perform routine system maintenance, patching, certificate management, and system updates
• Support archiving, backup, and recovery processes related to Exchange environments
Collaboration and Project Work
• Support infrastructure upgrades and Exchange Online migration projects
• Participate in mailbox migration and messaging optimisation initiatives
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve messaging and infrastructure issues
Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience supporting Microsoft Exchange on-premise environments
• Experience supporting hybrid Exchange and Exchange Online environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Exchange Online Protection and messaging security solutions
• Experience supporting Exchange archiving, backup, and recovery solutions
