Senior Director, Biometrics – UK-based & Fully Remote
A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Biometrics to provide strategic leadership across Data Management (DM) and Biostatistics. This role will play a key part in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely data delivery across clinical development programmes.
Role Overview:
The Senior Director will lead and oversee the organisation’s Biometrics function, including DM, Biostatistics, and Statistical Programming. They will provide strategic oversight, vendor management, and operational guidance to ensure programmes run efficiently, meet regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Data Management activities, including protocol support, database build oversight, CRF review, query resolution, data transfers, database lock, and eTMF documentation
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight of outsourced DM and Statistics activities, including vendor selection, contract management, and performance monitoring
- Establish and maintain vendor governance, KPIs, and quality metrics to assess performance and facilitate delivery
- Implement and maintain standards across DM and Statistics functions, including reporting templates, CRFs, and statistical deliverables
- Act as a liaison between clinical operations, medical, and biometrics teams, providing guidance on study design, tools (e.g., EDC, eCOA), timelines, and resources
- Oversee data transfers, reconciliations, and escalations, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory guidance, and CDISC/CDASH standards
- Evaluate and implement tools or systems to improve the efficiency and quality of DM and Statistics deliverables
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in biometrics leadership, managing DM and Biostatistics teams
- Experience working with vaccines and immunology trials (Phase I–III)
- Strong knowledge of outsourced vendor management, CRO oversight, and clinical trial governance
- Familiarity with clinical data standards, CDISC, and regulatory expectations
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a small or agile organisation, taking strategic decisions and driving delivery
Contract Details:
- 12-month contract, fully remote (UK only)
- 3–4 days per week
- Competitive and negotiable day rate
