Our Client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team fully onsite initially located in Dublin 12. An excellent opportunity for a motivated individual that will continue to carry this organisations key values of investing in people and changing perspectives.
Responsibilities
· Prepare the annual budget for review including the monitoring of the budget vs. the actual budget explaining key financial movements in conjunction with the Financial Controller
· Ensuring consistency of financial reporting
· Providing detailed supporting schedules outlining key data movements while identification
of challenges and opportunities
· Provide costings and impact to the Budget/Forecasts in order to enable the Financial Controller to review actual performance versus planned.
· Improve the collection, integration and presentation of financial data including the development of IT submissions
· Prepare monthly rolling forecasts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow supported by detailed analysis and schedules of upsides/downsides to the forecasts
· Provide proactive line management support for finance staff in the preparation of management accounts, project work and business plans (budgets / new business
· Develop financial modelling techniques, tools and reports to help towards a better understanding of the financial statements produced.
· Develop, maintain and review the internal controls environment to ensure the accuracy of the financial data presented in order to support the Financial Controller
· To support the Financial Controller in the preparation of Financial Statements Notes for external audit and presentation to the Board for approval including the production of detailed supporting analytical
Competencies
· A NFQ8 qualification or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
· Qualified Member of relevant accountancy body with PQE. (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
· Minimum 5 years’ finance experience
· Working in a complex accounting function to strict reporting deadlines—essential
· Proven experience in using a relevant financial software package.
· Working knowledge of complex accounting systems---experience in Sun, Vision, Sage, and MS applications would be an advantage.
· Understanding and experience of the Not-for-Profit sector (desirable)
· Working to tight deadlines in large complex accounting function—essential
· Ability to take both macro and micro views of costing proposals
