Building Surveyor / Retrofitting Advisor – Regional
Residential, Leinster Region
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 plus vehicle
Are you trade certified or a Surveyor or possess academics and training in a related discipline. Do you have a background in Irish construction methods to carry out surveys and/or BER assessments. Our client, a leading Energy Management company working with the SEAI and The Climate Action Plan, is welcoming applications for Domestic surveys in the Leinster Region. The aim is to retrofit 500,000 homes throughout Ireland to BER B2 standard by 2030. As the Domestic Surveyor / Home Retrofitting Advisor for Leinster, you will be required to complete domestic surveys and in time BER assessments and Inspections in the Leinster Region. You will be part of the wider team for a nationwide project which will play an important role in the Climate Action Plan – the SEAI Warmer Homes Scheme.
Responsibilities:
· The completion of pre-works surveys for domestic properties under the Warmer Homes Scheme.
· The completion of BER assessments of existing dwellings in line with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland Code of Practice for Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessors.
· Required to assess the quality of work completed to the property.
· Required to verify the quantity of materials installed in the property.
· Additional Training will be provided on the processes.
Essential Skills:
A Level 6 QQI or equivalent in a construction trade; mechanical, electrical , construction studies etc.
NFQ Level 6 Advanced/Higher Certificate in a subject similar to construction studies equating to 120 ECTS credits, where at least two of the topics listed below have been covered;
Architecture,
Architectural Technology,
Building Construction / Technology,
Building Design,
Building Energy Performance,
Building Services Engineering,
Building Surveying,
Civil Engineering,
Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering,
Quantity Surveying.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of domestic building systems (e.g. domestic building services, building fabric, heating systems, hot water, ventilation, lighting, building surveys, etc.).
Full, clean Driving Licence
Desirable Skills:
· The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and competencies:
· The ability to accurately survey a property;
· Excellent knowledge of the materials of construction and building services
· A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Good verbal, written and customer engagement skills
· Flexibility and drive to complete work assignments to committed deadlines
· Capacity to handle a high volume of workload and complete in an accurate manner
· Ideally, candidates could already be a SEAI fully registered domestic BER Assessor, active and carrying out BERs within the last 12 months.
Candidates who have completed the BER course and are eligible to register with SEAI will also be considered. In that regard, a BER qualification would be an advantage in this role. If not, however, training following the successful completion of a candidate’s probation period would be provided.
Rewards:
Permanent status roles. Remuneration is negotiable depending on the qualifications, experience, suitability and fit of the candidates, however, the ideal senior candidates can expect c €50,000 per annum plus transport.
