What’s this role about?
We are seeking a motivated Field service commissioners to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Automation Solutions Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and commission control systems for various projects. You will ensure the efficient operation of energy systems, maximize energy savings, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of controls engineering.
Also, once fully trained, successful candidate will be required to work shifts at times ranging from 6am to 10pm to facilitate markets in other time zones. Where possible we will be flexible with shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of control strategies for energy systems, focusing on demand response solutions, in collaboration with the engineering team
• Support the commissioning process, including system testing, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure optimal performance and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and technicians, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support during the commissioning phase, including customer training and system handover.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather project requirements and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including control system diagrams, specifications, and commissioning reports.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to controls engineering and commissioning.
Required Experience and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience or internship in controls engineering, commissioning, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or Python is an asset.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC programming, and industrial communication protocols
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site installations and commissioning activities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
