Project Manager, Hospital Construction projects Cork, client side

Remuneration: €70000-80000 plus benefits
Our client, is undertaking a major programme of construction of hi-tech facilities (refurb and new-build) and is seeking to recruit a Project Manager to assist in the management and delivery of their critical building construction project.
As the successful Project Manager you will be degree qualified and experienced Engineer; mechanical, electrical, or construction or Architectural or similarly qualified technical professional. You will join an expanding team of construction professionals and will work closely with and report to the senior Projects Director.
The role involve;
- Working on behalf of the end-user Client.
- Appointing and managing outside Consultants and Contractors.
- Preparing comprehensive project-briefs in conjunction with outside Consultants.
- Ensuring the briefs are understood in sufficient detail, by the many and varied stakeholders involved.
- Taking projects (in conjunction with Consultants) from; inception, scoping, tender packages, tender analysis, appointing contractors, managing contractors and consultants, managing costs and timelines, through to commissioning delivery and handover.
- Developing action plans for the timely and efficient completion of all contracts.
- Ensuring complying with all regulatory requirements including; permissions, licences and approvals.
- Ensuring equipping/commissioning contractor is appointed in good time, is adequately briefed and competent to carry out work.
To be considered for the role you must:
- Be Degree (level 8) qualified Engineer; Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Construction, Building Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or hold similar professional technical qualifications
- Have more than 7 years Project Management / Construction Management (buildings) experience.
- Have excellent communications, negotiation and persuasive skills.
- Be competent and professional in dealing with a range of diverse stakeholders.
- Be experienced in scoping works, preparation of design briefs and budgets.
- Have good knowledge of building regulations and guidelines.
- Have knowledge of Construction contracts (GCCC, RIAI)
- Have a proven ability to manage and control agreed budgets and timelines.
- Be familiar with Health & Safety legislation.
- Be proficient in the English language (spoken, written, technical).
- Be capable of multi-tasking, co-ordinating and delivering multi-projects.
Ideally you will:
- Have experience in constructing medical facilities / pharmaceutical facilities or similar hi-tech clean, highly regulated buildings / critical facilities.
- Be Chartered Engineer or Architect.
- Have on-site construction supervision experience.
- Be a member of a professional organisation.(IEI, ISCS. RICS, RIAI)
- Have a flexible approach to work and an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
- Have proven ability to manage complex multi-discipline projects whilst ensuring all deadlines are met.

Remuneration is negotiable depending on candidates qualifications, experience, suitability and fit for the role. However, the ideal candidate can expect c70,000 to 80,000 per annum plus.
