Job Summary:
The Chemical Lab Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts by conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and assisting in the formulation and testing of adhesive products. The successful candidate will work closely with our chemists and engineers to ensure the highest standards of product quality, performance, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Operations:
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and instruments for conducting experiments.
- Perform routine and specialized tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished adhesive products.
- Record and maintain accurate data, observations, and experimental results in laboratory notebooks or electronic databases.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all laboratory activities.
- Formulation Support:
- Assist chemists and engineers in the formulation and development of new adhesive products.
- Prepare test samples and prototypes for evaluation and analysis.
- Conduct tests to assess product performance, adhesive strength, durability, and other relevant properties.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize formulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct quality control tests on incoming raw materials to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform quality inspections on finished adhesive products to maintain product consistency and meet industry standards.
- Report any deviations or non-conformities promptly to ensure timely corrective actions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, summarizing findings, and presenting results to the R&D team.
- Contribute to technical discussions and provide insights to improve product performance.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with laboratory instruments and report significant problems to the supervisor.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and testing methodologies relevant to adhesives.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
- A Masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a lab technician in a chemical or adhesive manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of chemical laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with adhesive testing methods and equipment is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments, such as viscometers, rheometers, and thermal analyzers.
- Solid understanding of chemical principles and their practical applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
