Our client is a successful Irish research-instrumentation company - creating microfluidic products for the life sciences and medical diagnostics sector. Due to expansion, currently recruiting an Electronics Engineer with a track record of successful electronic R&D projects - bringing products from concepts to functional prototypes. Use of schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium) essential.
Fully on-site.
Role
- Design and development of electronics for new generation of microfluidic pump products.
- Support quality control and testing of existing line of products and products in development.
- Liaising with subcontractors to support manufacturing process including ordering components/ preparing specifications/postproduction QC.
- Assist the rest of R&D team in planning and execution of verification procedures and protocols to identify product specifications.
- Provide input to the product development schedule, milestones, and task/work packages for the electronic elements of the product development.
- Manage the electronic development schedule to align with the overall product development schedule
- Strong knowledge of analogue circuit design and test, including power electronics.
- Knowledge of digital circuit design, including programmable logic.
Position Requirements
- Degree/ MSc in electronic engineering.
- Experience designing of embedded real-time data acquisition systems.
- Excellent mixed signal (analogue/digital) circuits knowledge, Digital signal processors (DSP) knowledge (preferable TMS), embedded microcontroller programming, USB, RS-323, CAN interfacing.
- Knowledge of Firmware development (ability to modify current Firmware)
- Software programming (C, C++) an advantage
- Knowledge of power electronics, cabling routing and how to integrate into a complex instrument
- Track record of design and development of products from schematic and prototype to production.
- Experience in medical devices/instrumentation would be considered as an advantage.
