Job Purpose
Reporting to the IT Team Leader, the post holder will work collaboratively with the Group IT Team and be responsible for the management, administration and support of all IT systems and applications across our System to ensure optimum service delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve all technical system issues to ensure that all live IT systems are maintained and operational at all times.
- Provide General IT and Systems Administration support to all locations across the Group.
- Monitor and report on the Group 24 hours IT Support Scheme to ensure that it is effective, runs smoothly and meets the needs of the BSHS.
- Participate in the Group 24 hours IT support scheme rota as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Group IT Team to proactively maintain and further enhance existing IT systems (this will involve both scheduled and unscheduled out of hours work for system maintenance and development).
- Ensure that the IT help desk is run efficiently and effectively, and resolve all recorded issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for minimising system failures and unplanned stoppages through planned maintenance, health checks and ongoing monitoring of systems.
- Proactively educate end users on Information Systems on an ongoing basis.
- Carry out standard system tasks such as admin, backups, new Citrix builds, data recovery and user admin (O365, InfoSec issues, new users, system security patching, etc).
- Administer hardware and software maintenance and support contracts by liaising with the Head of IT Operations/Supplies Officer.
- Participate in the selection, procurement, installation and maintenance of new IT systems and new software installations.
- Responsible for agreed action plans for installations and the necessary briefing of personnel (these plans will be drawn up in conjunction with the Head of IT Operations).
- Ensure conformance to all IT SOPs.
- Undertake additional work out of hours (as required) for the maintenance and upgrade of existing systems. Time in Lieu will not normally apply for this work unless the annual accumulated out of hours work exceeds 91 hours.
- Carry out any additional duties that may arise as indicated by the Senior Systems Administrator/Team Leader.
- Project participation on particular systems projects as agreed with the Head of IT Operations.
- Work with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to develop group software solutions.
- Update existing and draft new SOP’s to facilitate enhanced IT service delivery.
- Review, audit and continuously improve IT protocols to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate fully in the preparation and maintenance of documentation for BSHS Accreditation and Quality Improvement Programmes.
- Keep abreast of current IT best practices.
- Work collaboratively with other members of Group IT to enhance the overall performance of the function.
- Work with InfoSec team on any security offenses and prioritise resolutions with IT operations.
- Will be required from time to time to visit other locations within the group, so own transport and full driver’s license will be necessary.
