You are at the top of your game, but you don’t feel like you are being challenged enough in your job. You are thinking about what other opportunities there might be out there.

You’ve never used a recruiter before and you might have heard a few horror stories. Why should you work with a specialist recruiter?

1. Specialist recruiters know the market

We spend loads of time speaking to companies and other jobseekers which gives us a unique insight into who the best companies are to work for. This means that you can avoid making a career choice you might regret in the future. We know your market worth, how much you could be paid in another company and the benefits on offer. We know which companies are expanding and the companies who mightn’t be doing so well.

2. We don’t just send your CV on and hope for the best

A good specialist recruiter will only put you forward for a job they genuinely think you’d be suited for. When setting up interviews we speak to our client, explain why you are relevant and how you come across to us. We give them the reasons why they should be considering you for interview, increasing your odds.

3. We know about jobs that aren’t online

We keep in touch with our clients and know their growth plans. In turn they ask us to keep an eye out for particular skills and personality types. When a suitable job comes up you’ll be one of the first to hear about it, and odds are that we’ll speak to you before we ever advertise it.

4. We help you prepare for interviews

Companies love it when the candidates they interview are properly prepared. A big part of our job is to get to know the companies that we represent. We find out things beyond what’s in the news or on their “About us” section of their websites. We do this by going out to meet them and basically interviewing them.

I personally ask a load of questions and take lots of notes. I like to find out their story. How they started and where they want to be in the future. I also dig down into what makes them different from their competitors. I’ll then use this knowledge to make sure that you are fully prepared for the interview.

5. We’ll negotiate for you

Now, when I say this, I don’t mean just money. We’ll know if you are looking for 1 day from home per week, flexibility around an early start and early finish and additional benefits. We’ll also do our best to get you the money that you deserve and advise the client accordingly.

So, what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone, give me a call, tell me where you want to be next year or in 5 years’ time, explain where you see your strengths, where you want to improve and let’s come up with a career plan for you.
