At Cpl we want all of our people to feel they can bring their whole selves to work, and that's no different while we're working remotely.

Friday marked the relaunch of BeProud@Cpl - our LGBTQ+ network within the Cpl Group. The relaunch coincides with raising awareness for International day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.

To raise awareness and promote inclusion BeProud hosted a virtual Quiz and Open Mic evening, where employees were encouraged to donate to local LGBTQ+ charities.

Our people across all Ireland, UK , US and Poland took part virtually with great enthusiasm - with the hope that everyone felt truly included, had a laugh and learnt a little.

Everyone is born free and equal in dignity and rights. However, discriminatory laws, policies and practices against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people are still in place around the world - in some countries, they are even resurfacing after being dormant for some years.

We must take the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) as an opportunity to raise awareness of the human rights of LGBTI people. It is also a chance to celebrate our diversity.

Created in 2014 International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia take place annually on May 17th. This date holds significance as it signifies the date the World Health Organization's decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.
