​What We Did

DAA required a team to manage an end-to-end recruitment process for Customer service, Operations, Facilities, Security, Cleaning & Retail roles. This process becomes more of a time-sensitive project when you include Garda vetting, basic police disclosures and full 5-year background checks.

Also adding to the challenge is that it’s a 24/7 Aviation operation with staff numbers driven by Airline requirements and passenger numbers – which most prevail with short lead times in a process that is lengthy due to vetting and foreign disclosure timelines.

How We Did It

We supply full life cycle recruitment services to all business units across the DAA. We currently provide this service via an RPO model sourcing, attracting and selecting roles for DAA. We hire in excess of 300 FTC per annum through a rigorous hiring process. The hiring process is 100% operated and managed by our Service Delivery team and has been successfully developed in partnership with the DAA.

This process is end-to-end and includes the full project scope out/project plan, recruitment forecast meetings with stakeholders and business unit GM’s, advertisement and promotion of roles, managing applications, screening CV’s, group interview process, assessments, face to face competency based interviews, co-interviewing with the client on-site at Dublin Airport.

We fully control the onboarding requirement including completing 5-year background checks for each candidate, covering any gaps of over 14 days within the 5 years, access permit applications, Garda Vetting applications, foreign disclosures, bank details, contract signing, uniform fit out, co-ordinating start dates and pre-start familiarisation trips.

The Service Delivery Manager is on-site with the DAA HR team and hiring managers weekly to ensure the quality in service and managing after any ad-hoc requirements.

Outcome

​Over 3,000 hires since 2007. A strong partnership has been formed where we lead out and drive the plan for frontline recruitment. We have moved beyond the day to day structure and look at evolving techniques and systems that can drive even more efficiency to the process

We hold co-working sessions where both ourselves and DAA review impacts of decisions made on either delivery or candidate journey, we feel this is a powerful way to review all aspects of this partnership and to become a solution-based offering.

We have also in the last year became very strategic for the client with workshops and events such as the Future of Work, Market Insights and data capturing.
