About The Job
We are seeking candidates with experience in legal, economics, engineering, public policy and other relevant fields to fill posts in the following areas:
- Security of Supply and Wholesale Markets
- Networks and Economic Regulation
- Customer Policy and Protection (incl. Legal)
- Decarbonisation
- Operations and Organisational Development
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing CRU consultation and decision papers, preparing reports and making
- presentations both internally and externally. Working as a member of a team and on specific cross functional project teams as required.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders in a constructive manner in order to further CRU objectives.
- Engaging with NI, GB or EU counterparts on all-island or EU policy, markets or industry developments.
- Maintaining an awareness of policy developments and best practice within the energy and water industry and related industries both in Ireland and internationally.
- Researching policy issues and identification of data / trends, using this to suggest policy courses of action for the CRU.
- Analysing spreadsheets of energy / water / safety data, and financial modelling.
- Supporting a technical team in assessing safety cases.
- Assisting with monitoring compliance of industry with their safety obligations and permits.
- Supporting safety audits, inspections and analysing performance reports.
- Carrying out such other functions as may be required from time to time to fulfil the business objectives of the CRU and as appropriate to the grade.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have on or before the closing date for applications the following:
- An appropriate NFQ Level 8 or higher qualification, preferably in economics, law, engineering, science, health and safety (process safety), business or other closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 1 years’ relevant experience working within an energy, safety, water, process industry or a related sector.
THE PACKAGE
· Starting salary of €43,303
· Salary scale: €43,303 - €61,370
· Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the scale.
· The rate of remuneration may be adjusted in line with Government pay policy.
· Candidates should note that different pay and conditions may apply if, immediately prior to appointment, the appointee is a serving civil or public servant.
· Salary increments will be awarded annually, subject to satisfactory performance.
