Current Need:
The Finance team here at the Swords campus are looking for a qualified Business Controls and Fixed Assets Accountant, on a Permanent basis, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Record fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, depreciation and impairment in the accounting system
- Manage Fixed Assets Accounting
- Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and closeout those accounts once the related projects have been completed, ensuring proper capitalisation and accounting for expenses
- Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations
- Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for all fixed assets groups Manage internal controls compliance
- Manage SOX controls processes and requirements, ongoing execution and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting
- Report on control deficiencies as well as recommend remediation activities
- Coordinate and close out company audits, both internal and external, and the testing of internal controls
- Identify, control and manage control risks, simplify and standardize processes and reporting
- Assist with corporate policy and local policy review and implementation, and own GOA/DOA system Minimum
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Strong fixed assets background with experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel
- Understanding of SOX controls
- Min 3 Year experience in a similar role
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy is essential
