ABOUT THE LAND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Compliance Manager the successful candidate will provide support and administrative assistance to Compliance teams within the LDA.
This is a great opportunity to work in a new agency, using your creativity and administrative flair to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment, is comfortable managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines, with strong communications skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative assistance to the Compliance prioritising tasks and seeking new ways to improve and create efficiency for the team
· General administrative and clerical work.
· Working as part of a team in delivering important public services.
· Working with the latest technology to record and advance services.
· Maintaining high quality records in a thorough and organised manner.
· Supporting line-managers and colleagues in projects and initiatives.
· Checking all work thoroughly to ensure it is completed to a high standard.
· Communicating and providing a quality public service to the public/customers.
· Training on the job will be provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
· Excellent communication skills.
· Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, maintain confidentiality, and be an effective team player
· Appropriate level and experience of relevant ICT Skills, e.g. proficiency in Word, Excel, e-mail.
· Relevant knowledge and skills to undertake the duties of the position, including the ability to:
o Take direction / follow instructions.
o Organise and prioritise work effectively.
o Work well with colleagues.
o Be flexible in their approach to work.
Desirable criteria
· Experience working in a civil service/public service body
· Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act 2014 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
