Fire Officer 1
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for Fire Officer (HPTO/SO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate – £17.94 per/hr
· Location – Clare House, Belfast
· Travel – Travel reimbursement at 45p per mile (access to your own vehicle is essential)
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting line management with the provision and management of appropriate and cost-effective Fire Safety services to clients including the use of CPD information management and related line of business management systems to manage and update FSS workload, clients, properties, and related technical records.
2. Completion of Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring they comply with appropriate, current standards.
3. Provision of appropriate and cost-effective fire safety advice to design and construction teams undertaking public sector construction and maintenance projects. This may include NICS Departments, other client bodies, internal and external design teams, and property maintenance teams.
4. Conducting, or assisting with, fire incident investigations including the preparation of reports and recommendations.
5. Advising DoF and other clients on a variety of fire safety related matters which may include researching relevant legislation, advisory documents, fire reports, manufacturer’s literature etc. and giving reasoned opinions in relation to fire safety and related matters.
6. Monitor, assess and report on the quality of contractor service delivery by various means including on-site inspections, reviewing contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), consultation with clients, etc.
7. Maintaining branch performance and client delivery in compliance with all statutory, health and safety, policy, good practice requirements and associated guidance.
Essential Criteria:
1. A Level 3 qualification in a relevant Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Engineering, or Construction subject, or equivalent*
And
1b. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in
establishing requirements** for fire safety in buildings
or providing specialist advice** on fire safety in building or construction
OR
2a. A Level 4 qualification in a relevant Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Engineering, or Construction subject, or equivalent*.
And
2b. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in:
i. establishing requirements** for fire safety in buildings
or
ii. construction
OR
3a. A Level 5 qualification in a relevant Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Engineering, or Construction subject, or equivalent*.
and
3b. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in:
i. establishing requirements** for fire safety in buildings
or
ii. providing specialist advice** on fire safety in building or construction
