JOB TITLE: Handyperson
LOCATION: Portadown
WORKING HOURS: 8.30AM - 4.30PM Monday to Thursday, 4.00PM Friday
MAIN DUTIES:
· Preparing for and laying concrete to falls
· Preparing for and laying flags
· Erection of fences (wire/wooden/steel panel) including hanging gates.
· Making gates to match vertical board fencing.
· Repairs to foul and storm water drainage
· Excavating and laying pipes, drainage, sewers
· Building manholes / covers
· Repairs to gutters/downpipes/soil wastes
· Roof repairs (slated/tiled/felted/sheeting) and laths. Lead repairs / renewal at
chimney, valleys & abutments
· Building bricks/blocks, copings, chimney pots. Fitting cills and lintels, drainage
channels
· Minor plastering (1 & 2 coat) – internal/external
· Minor plumbing work as required
· Levelling compound to floor & concrete floor repairs
· Slabbing ceilings / walls
· Fitting fireplaces & components e.g. ANB / dampers
· Small areas of floor / wall tiling
· Painting / staining as required.
· Forming concrete ramps / steps and fitting handrails
· Erecting clothesline pole / RCL
· Fitting / removing steel shutters / wooden shutters / boiler bars
· Making/erecting formwork for concrete ramps etc.
· Erecting access platforms/scaffold or prepared to be further trained on same.
· General labouring and any similar duties to above
· Take lead role when working with labourer.
· Perform other work related duties as assigned by manager. To attend meetings,
training sessions as required. Participate in training with a view to carrying out
work outside of normal duties where required.
· Ensure accurate and timely completion of all job information by both paperwork
and electronic means as required and ensure this is passed to your supervisor
within agreed timescales.
· Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health
and Safety and any other relevant legislation.
· To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss
work required etc.
· Carry out and complete all work to a high quality and in a timely and competent
manner and leave the property in a clean and tidy condition.
· To liaise with other staff / subcontractors etc. as necessary to ensure the timely
completion of works within agreed operational targets.
REQUIREMENTS:
2 years relevant experience in a similar role. Preference may be given to candidates with response maintenance experience.
Candidates must also have a full current driving licence or have access to a form of transport which would enable you to carry out the required duties of this post.
Desirable
B1 plus E / C1 plus E licence category.
