Head of Engineering

A leading commercial organisation in the Mid-West is hiring a Head of Engineering to lead engineering and facilities functions, including the delivery of an ambitious capital investment program through to 2028.
This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Director. You'll lead a cross-functional engineering team including Facilities and Energy Managers, Technicians, and Planners. You’ll drive operational success, ensure compliance, and lead on strategic project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and facilities teams to ensure operational excellence
- Deliver complex capital and operational projects on time and within budget
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g. EASA, IAA, ICAO)
- Oversee a capital plan of approximately €12 million for 2025
- Develop project plans, manage risk, and monitor financial performance
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project goals
- Promote continuous improvement and best practice in engineering delivery
- Support wider infrastructure and strategic initiatives across the business
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or similar discipline
- 12+ years of engineering experience, including 8+ in leadership roles
- Proven success in team management, project execution, and regulatory compliance
- Strong capital project delivery experience
- Skilled in project tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organisational skill
Salary & Benefits
- Base salary: Competitive and senior scale
- Performance bonus: Up to 10%
- Hours: 40-hour week, Mon–Fri (8:30am–5:30pm)
- Annual leave: 24 days + Good Friday + public holidays
