HR MANAGER

This prominent body plays a vital role in shaping the future of sport in the region, offering an exciting opportunity for a strategic and people-focused HR professional to make a meaningful impact. This is a 3-year fixed-term contract offering a hybrid work model (minimum three days onsite, with flexibility required during busy periods).
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Foster a positive work culture through effective employee engagement initiatives
· Identify training and development needs in collaboration with department heads
· Support and enhance the organisation’s performance management systems
· Provide HR guidance and support to all staff and management levels
· Maintain and manage the HR system and employee database
· Administer recruitment processes, including interview panel participation
· Draft employment contracts for staff and players
· Coordinate work permit applications and renewals
· Collaborate with governing bodies on HR matters such as onboarding and offboarding
· Oversee the entire employee lifecycle
· Advise on statutory leave entitlements (e.g., maternity, paternity, parental, sick leave)
· Administer and manage employee benefit programmes
· Monitor employment legislation and implement policy updates accordingly
· Clearly communicate HR initiatives and policy changes
· Liaise with external HR and payroll partners on employee matters
· Process monthly payroll amendments with the Finance team
· Act as the key contact for industrial and employee relations
· Support player development managers on HR-related issues
· Lead or contribute to HR project work and new initiatives
· Undertake additional duties as required by senior leadership
REQUIREMENTS
· Degree or postgraduate diploma in a relevant business discipline
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Head of HR/People & Development role
· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
· Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR practices
· Experienced in coaching and mentoring
· Proficiency with HR systems and tools
· Membership of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
