IT Systems Administrator – Hybrid (Athlone)
A leading organisation is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join its growing team. This is a hands-on role supporting infrastructure, patch management, and end-user device administration across a secure, hybrid environment. Ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and a focus on system security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Device Support:
· Support laptops, desktops, thin clients, and phones across Windows and Linux.
· Manage user access, Active Directory, and compliance documentation.
· Monitor system performance and collaborate across IT teams.
Patch & Vulnerability Management:
· Lead patch deployment and vulnerability remediation using SCCM, Intune, or similar tools.
· Track compliance and coordinate with the security team.
Security & Compliance:
· Monitor security alerts and enforce access controls and endpoint protection.
· Assist in audits and follow cybersecurity best practices.
Helpdesk & Technical Support:
· Provide 1st and 2nd level support across hardware, software, and networks.
· Support remote access tools and disaster recovery systems.
· Maintain internal documentation.
Requirements:
Essential:
· 2–3 years in IT support or system admin.
· Strong Windows OS, patching tools, and scripting (PowerShell, Batch).
· Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
· Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable:
· Degree or certifications (Security+, Microsoft, CCNA).
· Experience with Azure, Windows Server, and virtual environments.
Location: Hybrid, based in Athlone. Includes on-call and occasional Saturday support.
