Job Purpose:
To support the finance team with the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up to date. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to start or progress a career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the processing of purchase invoices and sales invoices
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor bank accounts
- Support credit control by chasing outstanding payments
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation
- Help with the preparation of monthly reports and financial statements
- Assist in processing staff expenses and petty cash claims
- Support with VAT returns and other compliance reporting
- Respond to queries from internal departments and external suppliers
- Help ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Person Specification:
- A keen interest in accounting and finance
- Good numeracy and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping or financial processes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
