We are recruiting on behalf of a leading biopharmaceutical company for an Junior Project Manager/Project Engineer to join their team in Dublin 15 on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support the management and execution of a diverse mix of capital and expense projects across Process, Utilities, and Automation/IT systems.
You’ll work closely with Senior Project Managers and stakeholders across the business, ensuring delivery of projects from initiation to closeout – with a strong focus on safety, schedule, budget, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage or support the delivery of multiple concurrent projects across manufacturing and utilities
- Lead or contribute to project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
- Ensure projects comply with engineering best practices, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, QA, EHS, Procurement, and Operations
- Develop business cases, project charters, and execution plans
- Coordinate contractor and vendor activities, ensuring adherence to project milestones and deliverables
- Oversee procurement specifications, equipment selection, and installation
- Lead commissioning and start-up activities for new systems and equipment
- Support validation efforts in collaboration with quality and engineering functions
- Apply risk management principles to anticipate, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Ensure proper documentation and close-out of projects in line with stage-gate processes
- Utilize project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SAP) for tracking and reporting on project performance
- Champion innovation and value engineering to optimize design, cost, and functionality
- Communicate project progress, risks, and results to senior management and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3+ years of project engineering/management experience in a pharmaceutical setting
- Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle and stage-gate methodologies
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience a plus
- Experience in biologics manufacturing is an advantage
