Network Security Engineer - Dublin
Our client, a leading provider of fixed-line and mobile telecommunications services in Ireland, is seeking a dedicated Network Security Engineer to join their team. With their extensive network and commitment to cutting-edge technology, they provide advanced voice, data, broadband, and ICT services to various sectors, leveraging our expertise to deliver integrated telecommunications, IT, and Managed Service solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Solution Implementation: Support and implement solutions for key customers, focusing on AIB Internet infrastructures utilizing Checkpoint, Citrix, F5, Ironport, and Firepower technologies while ensuring a solid understanding of IP Networking, Routing, and Security.
- Technical Support: Manage and implement changes, troubleshoot issues related to Mail (Ironport), Internet browsing (Forcepoint), Application load balancing (F5), DMZs Internal/External/ISEC (Checkpoint and Fortinet), DMARC, and VPNs.
- Customer Liaison: Communicate effectively with customers, providing solutions and assisting in implementing changes both verbally and in written form.
- Collaborative Contribution: Engage in collaborative communication among peers and engineering disciplines within our clients company, contributing positively to the team culture, design authority, and vision.
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in L3/L4 firewalls (Cisco and Checkpoint) in data center, perimeter, and bespoke scenarios. Proficiency in NGFW, DLP, IDS, anti-malware, and URL filtering.
- Experience with Proxy, Mail relay, perimeter hygiene solutions, Load balancing, SSL offload (F5, Citrix), DDoS protection, and VPN solutions (IPSec, SSL Remote Access).
- Familiarity with management, logging, audit integration services using SNMP, Syslog, and authentication integrations via LDAP/AD, Radius, and Tacacs solutions.
- Solid Unix/Linux skills; ability to script in Python, Perl, shell, C, or C++ is desirable.
