Occupational Health Advisor

Contract length - 23 months (1 day a week)

Pay rate - up to £25.36 p/h PAYE

Location - Sandwich & Walton Oaks - alternate weeks

A leading pharmaceutical client of ours is looking for a qualified Occupational Health Physician to join them on an initial 23-month contract basis, working in the position 1 day a week, between both their Sandwich and Surrey offices. Candidates should hold a medical degree & a Diploma in Occupational Medicine OR hold an AFOM/MFOM & have previous experience as an OH Physician. Ideal candidates will be organised, have excellent time management and be able to pay close attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

·       Ensure company compliance with applicable regulatory laws, regulations, and Global Colleague Wellness Medical Support standards in Occupational Health Management

·       Case manages colleague medical absence

·       Provide counselling to colleagues on health-related issues & update the business regarding fitness for work/reasonable adjustments

·       Ensure accurate medical records (workplace injury/illness records, investigations & reviews, health surveillance records, patient’s case management, clinic visit notes & risk assessments etc.)

·       Discharge OH clinical operational activities (medical surveillance, wellness exams and consultations, reproductive risk assessments, business travel assessments, vaccinations (one off or programs)

·       Act as a prescriber for team written Instructions

·       Advise & support the business with risk assessments of new and existing job roles, processes, products, work hazards or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards

·       Propose measures for the control and reduction of risk

·       Help to investigate possible workplace illness and injuries & company required reporting (RIDDOR & OSHA)

·       Support implementation of occupational health and wellness policies and/or procedures

·       Advise towards workplace wellness programs

·       Participate in team meetings, share best practice and be open to training/educating team members as required

·       Prepare for both internal and external audits
