Part‑Qualified Accountant (Practice)
Role Overview
Support the delivery of accounting, tax, audit (if applicable), and client services within an Irish accountancy practice, while progressing toward ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification. Manage client portfolios across various sectors and contribute to financial statement and tax return preparation.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare year‑end accounts (no‑audit or audit-exempt clients) and working papers to review stage.
- Reconcile balance sheet items: VAT, payroll, leases, fixed assets, prepayments.
- Assist with management accounts and monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
- Prepare and file statutory returns: Corporation Tax (CT1), Income Tax (Form 11), VAT, P30, RCT.
- Assist with audits where applicable: planning, fieldwork, audit files, and client reporting.
- Liaise with clients via phone/email regarding record submissions and queries.
- Support year-end close, journal entries, and accounting system reconciliations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Part‑qualified with ACA, ACCA or CIMA and at least 1–2 years’ experience in practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, procedural checklists, and Irish tax regimes.
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, Surf, CCH).
- Excellent written and spoken English; client communication skills essential.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client deadlines independently.
