A leading operator is seeking a Price Control Manager to lead regulatory engagement and oversee price control submissions to regulators in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This strategic role supports the organisation’s long-term ambition to repurpose its national network into a fully decarbonised energy system powered by renewable gases such as biomethane and green hydrogen by 2045.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of 5-year price control reviews for transmission and distribution operations in both jurisdictions.
- Align regulatory strategies with the broader organisational vision and national climate objectives.
- Manage cross-functional teams, project plans, budgets, and governance structures to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory bodies and lead formal negotiations.
- Ensure that regulatory decisions—including incentives, reporting, and compliance requirements—are effectively implemented and monitored.
- Track developments in external regulatory, policy, and market environments to inform strategic planning and future submissions.
- Support wider strategic planning and business capability development in collaboration with senior leadership.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 7–10+ years’ relevant experience with a degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven success in stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic communication.
- Strong project management and coordination capabilities, ideally with experience in complex regulatory, infrastructure or similar projects.
- Commercial and financial acumen, particularly in regulated environments involving large-scale capital investment.
- Ability to distil complex technical, operational, and financial issues into clear messaging for decision-makers.
- Persuasive, credible, and confident in engaging at executive and regulatory levels.
