Job Title: QA Automation Engineer
Our Galway based client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining automation frameworks that uphold the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA professionals to integrate test automation.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test suites for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Implement automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) to ensure functional, regression, and integration testing coverage.
- Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to catch issues early and reduce release risk.
- Perform API testing (REST) for healthcare data interactions.
- Analyze test results, log defects, debug issues, and provide detailed feedback to development teams.
- Advocate for quality best practices, including test coverage, code quality, and performance testing.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of quality standards and test plans with a focus on patient safety, accessibility, and data integrity.
- Contribute to manual testing efforts when needed, especially for new features or complex scenarios.
Your Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in QA Automation for web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, PHP).
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Strong understanding of REST API testing and experience with tools like Postman or RestAssured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (Git).
- Solid grasp of software testing principles, including test planning, coverage, and defect triage.
Nice to Have's:
- Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and WCAG compliance.
- Exposure to performance testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) or security testing (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burpsuite).
- Experience with BDD tools like Cucumber, Behave or SpecFlow.
