Our client, a leading Manufacturer and Delivery of Insultation products for the Passive housing sector is looking to hire a Retrofit Construction Project Manager. The successful candidate will plan and supervise a wide range of retrofit construction projects from start to finish. Most these projects relate to domestic retrofit applications, with the remainder related to commercial and community buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct retrofit projects from sale to completion by defining project scope, tasks, and required materials.
- Evaluate progress of all projects, update project plans and take appropriate action to ensure milestones are met and risk mitigated.
- Generate weekly & monthly management reports of progress highlighting any concerns or risks to senior management.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, BER Assessors and technical assessors to determine the specifications of the project.
- Ensure the project requirements are identified, understood, and delivered.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreement.
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
- Supervise work on site and give guidance when needed.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
- Supporting colleagues with their daily activities.
- Liaising with customers as required.
- Liaising with subcontractors as required.
- Requesting and collecting all documents relating to projects and submitting to office on time.
- Assisting the sales and marketing team with project submissions.
- Complete all tasks and duties required by the companies ISO Management Systems.
- Keeping complete and full records of all procedures and actions.
- Identifying process improvements and lessons learned and implementing for future projects.
- Monitor and develop subcontractor base.
- At all times act in an ethical manner.
Essential skills, qualifications and experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Minimum third level qualification in engineering, construction studies, building science or relevant field
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong Microsoft office experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- A team player with leadership abilities
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software
- Possess knowledge of and passion for building science and the field of sustainable retrofitting
- Proven leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong Microsoft office experience
