We’re looking for a Senior Crypto Engineer to play a key role in the development of innovative, customer-facing crypto products for a greenfield initiative. You will help architect and build secure, scalable, and user-centric digital asset solutions from the ground up, and help shape the broader crypto strategy. Working closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to building cutting-edge blockchain-based systems focused on FinTech use cases, with an emphasis on security, performance, and a seamless user experience. This is a unique opportunity to work in a startup-like environment backed by the resources of a global financial leader.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Hands-on experience in digital asset development, including cryptocurrencies, blockchain protocols, and decentralized applications (dApps).
- A strong track record of designing and building secure, scalable crypto systems — such as wallets, smart contracts, or trading platforms.
- Deep expertise in blockchain technologies (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, or other layer-1/layer-2 protocols) and cryptographic principles (e.g., public-key cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs).
- Notable contributions to open-source crypto projects, with publicly verifiable work on GitHub or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in languages like TypeScript, Solidity, Rust, Go, or Python, including low-level systems programming.
- Experience with customer-facing crypto products — such as wallets, exchanges, or DeFi platforms — with a focus on usability and security.
- Experience designing and implementing secure APIs, smart contracts, and integrations for blockchain-based applications.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, rapid prototyping, and iterative feature validation in a fast-moving environment.
- Solid understanding of decentralized finance (DeFi) and consensus mechanisms (e.g., PoW, PoS, DPoS).
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineering teams, promoting technical excellence and innovation.
- Clear communication skills — capable of explaining complex cryptographic or blockchain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cryptography, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- A passion for staying at the forefront of crypto innovation and exploring emerging technologies in the space.
The Team
You’ll join a product and engineering group within an innovation-focused division of a major financial institution. This team operates like a startup — building from scratch, adapting quickly, and aiming high — but with the stability and backing of a large enterprise. The organization has a strong track record of incubating new businesses and driving long-term innovation.
