Software Team Lead & Senior Front-End Developer

The Role:
My clients are looking for a Team Lead to lead a team of engineers based in Romania and remotely. As Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading an agile team to deliver high quality solutions to meet customer and business requirements. This is an opportunity to lead and develop a new team and continue as a hands-on developer, with potential for further management responsibility as the team grows.
Reporting to their Head of IT, you will be an experienced front-end developer with strong UX/UI experience and capabilities and want to maintain a hands-on development role. You will collaborate with their Online Marketing team, media agencies and other engineers within the business to design and optimise fantastic new cross-platform, cross-browser user experiences.
As this is a data-input driven industry you will be finding solutions to ensure a seamless and consistent comparison experience for their 3M+ users across desktop and handheld devices. You will be driving continuous UI improvement by exploiting the power of ever-evolving modern browsers and ensuring that they continue to provide goal-driven interfaces and accessible calls-to-action for their users.
Responsibilities include:
· Leading a team of engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time. Working with engineers to take accountability for providing accurate estimates and delivering against them.
· Working across teams to help gather technical requirements.
· Collaborating with back-end developers, business, design and marketing teams to produce and evolve fully responsive front-end interfaces.
· Ensuring user interfaces communicate consistent and effective experiences and messages across all platforms in alignment with the businesses core site and branding strategy.
· Working with wireframes, prototypes and production assets to effectively demonstrate interaction and developing user interfaces to work cross-device, cross-platform and cross-browser.
· Researching, implementing and championing UX/UI best practices and tools with internal teams and business partners to deliver high conversion rates using market leading customer experiences.
· Collaborating with QA to identify test hypotheses, plan, develop and run browser-based automated tests.
· May be required to attend meetings at their office in Timisoara and overseas partner sites.
Personal Specification:
· Education: Honours Degree in a computing, science, technology or mathematical discipline (minimum 2:1).3 grade ‘B’s or above at A-Level are desirable, though not essential.
Essential Requirements:
· Circa 2 years’ experience as a Team Lead or in a senior role within a development team.
· Demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring
· Significant experience in front end development and UX/UI application
· Expert in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
· At least 3 years’ experience with Vue or other JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React
· Expert in CSS pre-processors such as SASS or LESS
· Experience with source control systems such as Git or SVN
· Experience of consuming APIs using Vue
· Desirable Requirements:
· Prototyping experience to explore and communicate design decisions to colleagues.
· Experience using front-end automation tools such as webpack.
· Working knowledge of website building tools such as Wordpress (including writing custom plug-ins).
· Experience working with PHP would be an advantage.

· They would like the successful candidate to work flexibly with colleagues in their Grade A offices in Belfast when possible and will also consider remote or flexible working arrangements.
