Our client is Ireland’s most progressive building company, delivering large-scale construction projects across Ireland and the UK from offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and London. Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Sustainability Manager to join the team at their Dublin Head Office.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and implementing the company’s sustainability strategy in line with corporate goals and upcoming legislative requirements, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the company’s Sustainability Working Group.
- Support the development and communication of a clear sustainability strategy aligned with the CSRD.
- Enhance and execute the company's roadmap to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
- Ensure robust systems are in place for tracking and reporting Scope 3 emissions.
- Identify sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing sustainability practices.
- Prepare sustainability reports in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the CSRD and other relevant legislation.
- Collect, analyse, and report on key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics.
- Liaise with senior management and cross-functional teams to embed sustainability across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote sustainability initiatives externally and internally.
- Research and advocate for innovative technologies and methods to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
- Contribute to strategies for addressing long-term sustainability challenges.
- Assist in designing and delivering sustainability training for employees.
- Foster a company-wide culture of sustainability.
- Serve as a point of contact for all sustainability-related queries.
Key Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:
- A third-level qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A strong understanding of CSRD, ESRS, and other sustainability reporting frameworks.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proven analytical skills and experience managing sustainability-related data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex sustainability topics to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience in developing sustainability policies, processes, and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable change across a business.
