Web Applications Project Lead

We’re looking to recruit a pro-active, experienced web applications project lead, eager to learn and contribute to The Retail team. The successful applicant will work with internal stakeholders, including IT Operations, to lead the project management, procurement, design, deployment, and in-life management of certain web applications to support functions.
Retail Division
The Retail Division is at the forefront in protecting, informing and empowering consumers so that they can choose and use communications services with confidence. Our consumer protection strategy emphasises the role of informed decision-making. The consumer responsibilities of the Retail and Consumer Services Division include responsibility for overseeing ECS and PRS providers’ compliance with relevant regulatory obligations.
The Job – Web Applications Project Lead
Reporting to the Head of Retail Compliance and ECAS, the Web Applications Project Lead will be responsible for the following areas and tasks:
· Work with internal stakeholders, including IT Operations, to lead the project management, procurement, design, deployment, and in-life management of certain web applications to support functions
· Provide relevant technical advice to all areas in the Retail Division
· Contribute to the planning and achievement of R&CS objectives, goals and priorities, through the application of extensive ICT, Web Technologies and Communications Network knowledge, expertise and experience
· Provide professional, timely and effective technical analysis and expert advice on technical initiatives within the Division - including technical contributions to Consultations and other publications. Also provide technical solutions that will assist R&CS strategies, products and initiatives for the benefit of consumers.
· Keep up to date with technological, industry and EU developments.
· Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
· Represent the company nationally and internationally through the companies participation at relevant BEREC meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
· Relevant degree level technical qualification
· Have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience leading web application projects ideally in a telecommunications network environment
· Demonstrate the capacity and credibility necessary to interface effectively with electronic communications service providers and operators.
· Experience of engaging with external and overseas stakeholders and vendors.
· Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the architecture and bodies that support the effective operation of the internet.
· Proven ability to draft high quality tender documents with subsequent response evaluation activities.
· Strong project management and communication skills.
· A practical hands-on approach to complex issues and ability to multi-task in a diverse environment.
· Demonstrable analytical skills.
Desirable
· Good understanding of mobile and/or fixed telephony networks.
· Knowledge of the current Electronic Communications Services market, including internet access services and developing trends.
· Demonstrate a good understanding of the relevant technologies involved in:
network management, including traffic management techniques and practices, and factors that affect the quality of service of internet access services.
· Detailed knowledge of relevant stakeholders and the interaction between the company and these stakeholders.
· Demonstrable data management skills.
