Every year, International Men's Day is celebrated across the world to raise much needed awareness for men's health. To commemorate the occasion, Cpl hosted a breakfast morning in partnership with Zevo Health on men's mental and physical wellbeing.

Zevo representatives John Paul Hughes, Nutrition and Exercise coach and Jamie O'Crowley, Health coach spoke to a crowded room around the topics of the stigmatisation of men's health, tips on how to manage stress and resilience.

The theme for this year's International Men's Day was 'Positive Male Role Models', to recognise the value men bring to the world, their families and their communities. We asked the people of Cpl to nominate a colleague who they thought was a positive role model. Amongst 110 nominations, our very deserving winner David Martins was chosen for his leadership skills, respectfulness and willingness to go above and beyond in his role.

One of the nominations for David:

'David Martins is a really positive male role model in all aspects of his role. He is a real leader to his team, no job is too big or too small for him . He definitely would not ask his team to do anything he would not do himself. He is very active in sports and social, he always takes part in any CSR events. He is very health conscious but also appreciates a few pints. He is excellent at his job and really embodies the Cpl core values. He really is a silent leader who walks the talk. '

Niamh O'Connor, HR Manager

International Men's Day coincides with Movember which helps raise awareness for similar issues, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. If you would like to support our Mo's in Cpl, please donate here.
