About the Role
Cpl, Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital for an experienced Advanced Specialist Pharmacist specializing in Oncology and Haematology. This full-time, permanent position offers a key leadership role within the pharmacy service, focusing on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy support in a specialized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards and specialized clinical areas.
- Ensure patient care and safety are prioritized at all times.
- Manage and optimize clinical information systems related to Oncology/Haematology pharmacy services.
- Develop, review, and implement medication policies, protocols, and guidelines, including those related to Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Oversee safe and cost-effective management of medications, including formulary decisions and stock shortages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve medication management and clinical guidelines.
- Lead audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy service.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for pharmacy staff.
- Participate in hospital governance, committees, and service transformation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
- Minimum of 4 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience, including clinical and line management roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy, ideally with experience in oncology/haematology.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and resource management skills.
- Experience with change management and quality improvement initiatives.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Desirable
- Formal management or leadership training.
- Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Background in aseptic compounding or cancer specialty pharmacy services.
- Additional qualifications such as a postgraduate diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
