Automation Technician – Longford
We’re seeking a few skilled Automation Technician's. This hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation and control systems that keep our advanced manufacturing processes running at peak performance. This position operates on a 4-cycle shift system.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Support commissioning and integration of new automation systems, including programming adjustments.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams during new product introductions and process improvements.
- Partner with equipment suppliers and contractors during installation, testing, and validation phases.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities per company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental requirements, including ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline (minimum Level 6).
- 1+ years’ experience working with automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar), robotics, sensors, and vision systems.
- Skilled in reading electrical/mechanical schematics and diagnosing faults on complex systems.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to work on a 4-cycle shift rotation.
