Flexsource NI are currently recruiting for a Band 3 cook
Responsibilities:
· Prepare, cook and present a range of meals in line with approved menus, dietary requirements and food safety standards.
· Assist in menu planning and contribute to the development of nutritious meal options for service users.
· Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, ensuring compliance with HACCP, Infection Prevention & Control, and Trust policies.
· Monitor food stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure correct storage and rotation of supplies.
· Operate kitchen equipment safely and report faults or maintenance needs promptly.
· Support the wider catering team in delivering an efficient, patient-focused service across hospital and community sites.
· Complete documentation accurately, including temperature checks, cleaning records and allergen information.
· Provide guidance to Catering Assistants as required and contribute to a positive, team-oriented working environment.
Requirements:
· NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent recognised catering qualification).
· Proven experience in a commercial, healthcare or institutional kitchen environment.
· Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate).
· Knowledge of HACCP procedures and documentation.
· Ability to prepare meals to dietary guidelines including allergens, special diets and texture-modified meals.
