Business Solutions Design Manager - leading Educational Institution
Purpose of the Role
- Lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions design and configuration services.
- Provide systems and business analysis across key enterprise applications.
- Oversee ongoing configuration and optimization of the SITS student administration system.
- Support continuous improvement across a broad suite of integrated enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the Application Design & Development team.
- Mentor and guide systems/business analysts in day-to-day activities.
- Prioritise workload, plan team activities, and align work with IT policies and standards.
- Allocate resources to projects and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Solution Design & Development
- Manage design and development across the full solution lifecycle.
- Define standards and best practices for enterprise application configuration and integration.
- Lead design, configuration, documentation, testing and deployment of SITS solutions.
- Support integration and third-party solution delivery (e.g., Power Apps).
Technical & Business Analysis
- Provide systems and business analysis services to stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent, future-proofed solution design across all team outputs.
- Guide end users in selecting optimal system processes and solutions.
- Conduct robust testing, including regression testing for major annual upgrades.
Operational & Clerical
- Maintain accurate records of all team activities and solution portfolios.
- Ensure full and clear documentation for all deliverables.
- Support administrative and staff management duties required for the role.
- Ensure project management standards are followed across solution development.
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
- Work closely with business areas to gather and prioritise requirements.
- Manage and track change requests through portfolio tools.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Align solution delivery with organisational priorities, annual academic cycles and strategic plans.
General
- Represent the department at meetings and deputise for colleagues as required.
- Undertake additional duties as needed.
The salary for this role is between €90,000 to €111,700 per year depending on relevant experience. There is a 35 hour working week and the role is Hybrid. Location is Dublin City. To apply for this role please email your cv to [email protected]
