About the Role:
Our client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a Clerical Officer to join their Legal Department on a temporary 3-month contract. This role is ideal for an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is confident handling confidential information and legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day administrative duties including correspondence, post handling, document filing (including court filings), and general office support.
- Log and prioritise enquiries, telephone calls, and complaints, ensuring updates are provided to the relevant supervisor or manager.
- Assist in the drafting, preparation, and issue of legal and court-related documents.
- Maintain and update databases, records, and case management systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Support colleagues across the department to ensure efficient service delivery and workflow.
- Understand how the department’s activities contribute to overall service performance and client outcomes.
- Handle all information and documentation with confidentiality and discretion, maintaining professional standards at all times.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a legal, public sector, or professional services environment.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with databases and document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
