Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist – Urology
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in urology for a full-time permanent position. Our client is a private hospital in the midlands of Ireland and provides a rapid access diagnostic service for both men and women with urological conditions. Services include a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Urology will provide expert clinical care, emotional support, education, and care coordination for patients with urological conditions across the continuum of care. This role is pivotal in enhancing patient outcomes, streamlining multidisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with national standards and Charter Medical’s values.
Interested candidates must have
- Diploma / Degree in Nursing
- Full registration with the NMBI (NMBI Pin)
- Full rights to work in Ireland without sponsorship
- Post graduate course in Urology
- 3.5 years post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting
- Current or recent experience working in urology
The role involves.
Clinical Practice:
- Act as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients with urological conditions, including malignancies.
- Provide specialist nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Serve as a keyworker for patients, offering continuity and coordination throughout their treatment journey.
- Attend and contribute to urology outpatient clinics, including PSA clinics and diagnostic consultations.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure seamless patient pathways and timely interventions.
Patient Support & Advocacy:
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families/carers.
- Advocate for patients, helping them understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
- Provide information on available resources, including palliative care and community services.
Quality & Audit:
- Participate in clinical audits and service evaluations to improve care delivery.
- Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Ensure accurate documentation and data entry into relevant systems (e.g., cancer registries).
