We are recruiting Electrical Utilities Technicians for permanent positions at a large, mission-critical Energy Centre supporting a highly regulated industrial campus in Dublin. These are long-term opportunity offering stability, excellent benefits and exposure to complex utilities and electrical infrastructure. Both day roles and shift-based positions are available. Applicants must be authorised to work in Ireland with no restrictions and fluent in the English language both written and spoken.
These roles are particularly well suited to candidates with experience in electrical utilities maintenance, including those from
- Energy & Power Generation – power stations, CHP plants, district energy or renewable facilities
- Marine / Shipboard / Offshore – electrical and utilities maintenance in safety-critical environments
- Oil & Gas / Petrochemical – electrical systems, pumps, compressors, regulated maintenance
- Heavy or Continuous Manufacturing – utilities-intensive sites such as food & beverage, chemicals, cement or metals
- Facilities Management (Critical Sites) – hospitals, airports, large industrial campuses
- Water & Wastewater Treatment – pumps, motors, MCCs, PLC-driven utility systems
- Rail, Transport & Infrastructure – depots, tunnels or electrified transport systems
- Semiconductor or High-Tech Manufacturing – uptime-driven utilities and electrical systems
- District Heating / Cooling & Energy Centres – centralised utilities operations
- Ex-Forces Engineering Backgrounds – Navy, RAF or Army engineers with strong electrical experience
- Data Centres – electrical distribution, generators, UPS, BMS, utilities plant
Applicants must be able to demonstrate hands-on maintenance experience, with a proven track record of diagnosing and repairing faults rather than solely monitoring or escalating issues and include examples upon application
The Role
The Electrical Utilities Technician will be responsible for the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities across site utility systems. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, you will liaise with site engineering, operations and specialist contractors to ensure utilities plant and equipment operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as scheduled by maintenance coordination teams
Troubleshoot and resolve faults on electrical and utilities equipment
- Complete all required documentation before and after maintenance activities
- Work flexibly across buildings and plant areas
- Support maintenance shutdowns and planned outages
- Liaise with day and shift maintenance teams on all utilities systems
- Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors during planned servicing
- Ensure all work complies with site EHS policies and statutory requirements
- Carry out risk assessments and keep maintenance task lists up to date
- Review and update standard operating and work instruction documents
- Participate in audits of plant rooms and follow up on corrective actions
- Maintain tools, spares and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition
- Support fault investigations, including electrical protection and fire detection systems
- Assist with reliability-centred maintenance initiatives
- Support CMMS accuracy (asset data, spares, job plans and history)
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives
- Take ownership of complex utilities plant faults, carrying out hands-on troubleshooting

Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on electrical experience in an industrial or utilities environment
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and utilities systems
- Proven experience fault-finding low and medium voltage systems
- Strong knowledge of single and three-phase motors
- Experience working with preventive maintenance programmes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Experience using CMMS and Permit to Work systems
- Understanding of structured, regulated maintenance environments
- Basic PLC and instrumentation awareness
- Computer literate
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Team player with a proactive, safety-focused approach
