Financial Accountant - Cork
Cpl are working with a well-known, nationally recognised organisation seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Cork-based finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or recently qualified (up to 1 year PQE) ACA/ACCA accountant to take on a broad and commercially focused role within a dynamic business.
The position offers exposure across financial and management accounting, business partnering, and project work within a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of ledgers.
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Prepare management accounts and assist in variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews.
- Assist in financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and reporting.
- Liaise with auditors and support the preparation of statutory accounts.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent, ideally with up to 1 year post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and an interest in commercial finance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a collaborative environment.
