Gas Shift Technician
Temporary, 11 month contract
Your Role:
In the technician role, you will be essential in ensuring the supply of chemicals and gases necessary for producing chips used in various electronic devices. This position provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to a dynamic and expanding business.
As a technician, you will work full-time, with responsibilities that include 24/7 operations and periodic service calls. You will work with advanced gas and chemical blending equipment, chemical reprocessing, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with all operational and maintenance procedures, as well as emergency preparedness protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems.
• Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers.
• Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative and repair maintenance.
• Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs.
• Support of quality systems.
• Adhering to site protocols and demonstrating a safety-conscious approach.
• Primary communication point to customer.
Schedule:
Technicians are scheduled on-site for 12 hours shift rotating day-to-night / night-to-day including, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Attributes:
• 75% of time walking throughout the facility (3-5 miles per day).
• Climbing of ladders up to 12-foot-tall (utilizing fall protection).
• Basic lifting (up to 40lbs).
• Bending of the knees and overhead reaching.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Leaving Certificate or Suitable Trade completion
• With experience in a semiconductor, chemical or other manufacturing setting
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering , or other technical discipline
• Understanding of safe work practices and experience in lockout, tag out projects.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Technical aptitude to identify parts needed for a replacement or repair.
• Ability to read flow transmitters, pressure transducers, understand units of measure and use precision measuring equipment.
• Understand materials of construction and chemical compatibility
• Awareness to identify unsafe work conditions and report them to management.
• Excellent teamwork and people skills
