Head of Digital Engineering
We are partnering with a major healthcare organisation undertaking a large scale digital transformation. They are seeking a Head of Digital Engineering to lead the design and delivery of modern digital platforms and integration systems across a complex healthcare ecosystem.
This role combines strategic leadership with deep hands on technical expertise across platform engineering, integration, and cloud architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise digital platforms and integration architecture
- Define engineering standards across APIs, microservices, and event driven systems
- Build and lead a high performing engineering and integration team
- Oversee interoperability platforms connecting clinical and operational systems
- Drive modern engineering practices including cloud native development and DevOps
- Lead technical architecture, troubleshooting, and complex system integration initiatives
- Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and scalable
Requirements
- 10 plus years experience in software engineering or platform architecture
- Strong experience designing large scale integration platforms and APIs
- Deep knowledge of messaging systems, event driven architecture, and cloud platforms
- Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical programmes
- Hands on experience with modern development frameworks and DevOps tooling
- Strong system design and architecture expertise
- Experience in healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIR would be advantageous.
