Junior Procurement Specialist – 12 Month Contract
My client is a well-established organisation operating within the construction sector, delivering a mix of residential and commercial projects. Due to continued activity across multiple sites, they are seeking a Junior Procurement Specialist to support the Construction & Procurement Manager and play a key role in ensuring an efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement function.
This role will suit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, strong stakeholder interaction, and ownership of end-to-end purchasing administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Procurement Manager across all purchasing activities
- Act as the first point of contact for suppliers and internal purchasing queries
- Raise, amend and track purchase orders, ensuring timely placement and accurate delivery
- Process material orders efficiently and follow up on delays or discrepancies to resolution
- Liaise closely with site foremen across multiple construction sites to assess daily supply requirements
- Assemble pricing packages and conduct supplier comparisons to support commercial decisions
- Negotiate rates and pricing blocks with suppliers as required
- Support accounts payable queries and ensure accurate PO reconciliation
- Compile and maintain project procurement files, including contracts, correspondence, variations and schedules
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement administration role
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across sites and suppliers
- Proactive, self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative
