CPL Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with our client for a Market Operator on a permanent full-time basis, based in Belfast with a salary up to £44,000 per year.

The role:
With a full copy of the Job Spec available on request, the Market Operator will:
- Play a key role in delivering a full range of work within the Market Operations team, monitoring and operating the trading desk.
- Upon completion of a 3-month training program, be licenced and certified to operate the electricity market auctions as part of the trading desk team.
- Complete specific tasks within pre-determined timelines and the team work to deadlines which can be in real-time, daily, weekly, monthly, while working closely with the other team members to ensure the appropriate support and backup is available within a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with service providers to operate and verify results from the various wholesale markets, along with maintaining oversight of all market operations and auction activities during the auctions while liaising closely with stakeholders to resolve operational issues, typically to very tight deadlines.
The person:
- 3-years' experience in a data and/or critical operational role.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Effective time management to achieve strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate level Excel.
- Experience using multiple systems at the same time and ability to learn and operate various systems to monitor and troubleshoot process execution.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced business environment.
- Able to work effectively within a team environment under time pressures with a flexible work approach.
- Strong skills in MS Office products and file management systems e.g. SharePoint.
