Job Opportunity: Mechanical Shift Technician (Permanent)

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Technician to join an on-site operations team supporting critical utility services at an iconic flagship industrial facility in Dublin 8. This is a permanent, full-time role on a rotating 24/7 shift schedule. The successful candidate will operate and maintain a range of utility systems while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Shift Schedule (12.25-hour shifts):
· Six blocks of 4 x Day Shifts with 4 rest days between each block
· Followed by
· Three blocks of 4 x Night Shifts with 4 rest days between each block
· Then repeat
Salary & Allowances:
· Base salary from €55,000 plus
· 26% shift premium, made up of:
· 20% for extended day shifts
· 6% additional for night shifts

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain:
- Water treatment and wastewater systems
- Ammonia refrigeration plant
- CO₂ and nitrogen generation systems
- Compressed air, cooling towers, steam, and electrical distribution
- Perform preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance
- Identify and repair faults where practicable
- Ensure plant performance meets reliability and SLA targets
- Apply safe systems of work, including isolations and permit-to-work systems
- Use and maintain digital systems: SCADA (Sembyc), CAMMS/SAP, Know How, and email communication tools
- Support planned outages and engineering projects
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and maintenance records
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Fully qualified in Mechanical Fitting or Marine Engineering
- At least 5 years’ industrial experience in a mechanical maintenance role
- Skilled in fault finding and maintenance of gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Familiar with LV electrical systems and plant instrumentation
- Comfortable working independently, including during night shifts
- Experience applying safe systems of work (e.g., isolations, permit systems)
- Able to read and act on plant performance data
- Willing to use and adapt to digital tools and new technologies
- Capable of fulfilling safety-related roles such as Safety Controller, Designated Person, Issuer, or Acceptor
