Join the Naval Service as a Direct Entry Electrical Artificer (Electrician)
Please note: Interviews and fitness testing will take place onsite at the Naval Base, Haulbowline Island, Cork.
We are now recruiting qualified Electricians to join as Direct Entry Electrical Artificers. In this role, you'll maintain and repair onboard electrical systems including power generation, distribution, and automated control systems. Duties also include preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and participation in emergency response operations.
Requirements:
- Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
- Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
- Age: 18–39 years on the date of application
- Qualifications (or national equivalent):
- HETAC Level 7 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics & Instrumentation, or Marine Electrotechnology
- QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Electrical, Electrical Instrumentation, or Instrumentation
Recruitment Process:
Includes a fitness test, competency-based interview, medical exam, and Garda vetting
Location: All assessments conducted at the Naval Base, Haulbowline Island, Cork
Salary & Benefits:
- Basic salary: €49,543 with annual increments
- Naval Service Allowance: €20,570 (tax-free)
- Additional allowances for overseas service starting at €15,000
